Weems Street Entertainment (WSE) is a burgeoning record label and promotions company that is committed to developing the talent of recording artists and creating viable platforms to showcase entertainers in music and other genres.
The brainchild of two lifelong friends from Picayune, Mississippi — a small town located 40 miles north of New Orleans — WSE was founded in an effort to create an opportunity for hometown residents who possessed innate lyrical ability and melodic prowess but who lacked a supportive environment that was conducive to success in the music industry. Corrie “240” Hinton and Michael “Dean tha Don” Stubbs, who grew up on Picayune’s famed “Weems Street,” forged a formidable partnership by combining their respective experiences in label management and a bevy of entrepreneurial pursuits, thus providing the blueprint for the young company’s success.
Since being established in 2010, WSE has been a presence on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and surrounding areas. The Annual Black Friday Concert, held at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum in 2013 and 2014, is the biggest promotional venture undertaken by WSE to date. In partnership with AG Entertainment based in Atlanta, WSE brought prolific headliners such as TI, Young Jeezy, 2 Chainz, Yo Gotti, K. Michelle, Future, Lil Boosie, and Kevin Gates. The Black Friday series also provided an outlet for WSE recording artists to perform alongside some of the biggest names in the business. Recently, WSE was involved in the promotion of several events associated with Biloxi Black Beach Weekend, with 9,000 in attendance at the Spring Fest Concert held at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum.
Other artists with whom WSE has performed (and/or promoted) include 5th Ward Weebie, 10th Ward Buck, Dej Loaf, Flawless Da Rich Kid, Foxx, Gucci Mane, Hollywood Luck, Hotboy Ronald, Juvenille, Keke Wyat, Keyshia Col, Level, Lil Romeo, Lil Ronnie, Lil Scrappy, Mario, Mike Epps, Mystikal, Pastor Troy, Poppa Duck, R. Kelly, Rich Homie Quan, Rico Love, Snootie Wild, Stuey Rock, Trina, Woop, YG, Young Dolph, Young Dro plus more.
WSE consistently performs and hosts parties at clubs across Mississippi, including a lucrative promotions deal with Club Illusion II, dubbed “the hottest club on the Gulf Coast.” With the recent release of two acclaimed compilation albums, We R Weems Street Entertainment Volume 1 and No Competition, WSE is poised to be a powerhouse where talent and opportunity meet to produce greatness.
